Meet our leadership
Coye Harrett and Jon Hepner became co-owners of Prairie Rivet in 2020. It’s an unlikely story: two smart, talented, young entrepreneurs investing in American manufacturing. A more familiar story would be the launch of a tech startup or app development, but they saw a diamond in the rough. Coye and Jon come from hard-working and hands-on backgrounds. With combined experience in manufacturing, construction, operations, logistics, finance, and real estate development, there’s no job too big and no problem they can’t solve.
Their vision? Make top-notch rivets right here in America and make sure they’re the best ones out there. They’re dedicated to expanding the manufacturing business and putting their customers first. It’s that drive that makes Prairie Rivet different from your average shop. And it’s the reason they’ll continue to be around for years to come.
Jon Hepner is the Co-Owner of Prairie Rivet, an American manufacturing company known for high-quality rivets and competitive lead times. Over 500 clients have counted on Prairie Rivet to deliver the highest quality rivets for their customers and applications.
Before becoming a business owner, Jon excelled in real estate development and construction management. He oversaw property acquisitions, new development entitlements, construction, and operational strategies growing the individual portfolios of the companies he represented by more than 1,800 multi-family units and $300MM in property value. In 2019, Jon was responsible for implementing the largest solar portfolio on multi-family developments in the state of Wisconsin, and was recognized as one of In Business Madison’s 2019 40-Under-40.
Through this leadership experience and strong work ethic, he developed a knack for effectively attracting, retaining, developing, and leading personnel while driving efficiencies for sustainable operations and project management. Jon’s prior experience paired with unmatched grit puts Prairie Rivet on an upward trajectory well into the future.
Outside of rivet manufacturing, Jon spends his time hiking with his wife Krista and their dog Barry, relaxing and spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys snowboarding, trout fishing, clay shooting, and exercising whenever he can. He gives back to the community by serving on the Gilda’s Club Madison’s board of directors.

Before becoming a business owner, Coye crunched numbers in a financial planning and analysis role for a crude oil trucking company. With help from his leadership, the company’s growth skyrocketed over 3000% during his near-decade of experience. He provided invaluable operational strategy recommendations and detailed financial analysis to C-Suite executives which proved instrumental in the company’s growth. Before this, Coye worked at a high-performance sailboat manufacturing plant where he oversaw production and was part of multiple National Championship sailing teams. His ability to create efficient processes and extensive knowledge of financial controls for sustainable growth will benefit Prairie Rivet for years to come.
Outside of rivet manufacturing, Coye enjoys spending time with his fiance Shannon and their dog Moose. Since the age of five, he has sailed competitively and has won multiple national championships. With much appreciation for the sport, Coye gives back by serving on the board of two different sailing organizations.
